Shirou Tokisada Amakusa (in Japanese: 天草四郎時貞, Amakusa Shirō Tokisada), also known as Ruler (in Japanese: ルーラー, Rūrā), was the titular anti-heroic main antagonist of the light novel, manga and anime series Fate/Apocrypha.
Without nerding out too much or going into full review mode, I just wanna say that Fate/Apocrypha is a MUST watch. You don't need any previous knowledge from the series to enjoy yourself. It was incredibly entertaining and I'll definitely be getting into the rest of the Fate series.Jul 7, 2018

Background. Shirou Kotomine's history is similar yet different from the Shirou of Fate/Stay Night. Unlike his Fate/stay night counterpart, Shirou Kotomine was adopted by Kirei Kotomine after he had been saved from the corrupted grail by Kiritsugu Emiya.
