Clannad is a 2007 Japanese animated fantasy drama film directed by Osamu Dezaki and based on the visual novel of the same name developed by Key.

Date a Live is a a mix of your typical harem/mecha anime while parodying them, but doing a fantastic job at that. The series has a surprisingly developed plot, but lacks for it in character development (you'll easily relate most characters to their respective dere types).

Death Note is popular because it involves an amazing rivalry involving mind games and forethought. A genius criminal(LightYagami) who has an ability to kill anyone by just writing their name in a book(DeathNote) and a genius Detective(Anonymous) whose identity is unknown so he can not be killed by Light Yagami.

There is no better anime to follow Death Note than Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion.

Mature really for older kids and up.

Has some sex and violence but is mostly very dark.

Death Note was created in 2006, and with its easily digestible 37 episode count, it became one of the highest-rated anime series ever made. It was so beloved that it even got a Netflix live-action movie remake.Apr 16, 2021
