The Gundam Barbatos is one of 72 "Gundam" frames that was produced and used in the Calamity War. After it was recovered, Chryse Guard Security used it as a power reactor; aside from the fact that its Ahab Reactors were still functional, this was done mainly because Barbatos' cockpit was missing when it was found.

Unfortunately, those events came to pass when Mikazuki was killed in the final battle with Gjallarhorn at Tekkadan's base on Mars. However, Mikazuki and Atra's effort to conceive a child proved fruitful, and Atra gave birth to their son, Akatsuki Augus Mixta Bernstein, after the conflict.

Despite his grievous wounds, Mikazuki continues to fight an outnumbered battle against Gjallarhorn. Ultimately, Mikazuki passes out and dies due to blood loss.

After Mikazuki was killed in the final battle, Kudelia made good on her promise to him, and took every opportunity her schedule could allow to visit Sakura's farm to be with Atra and her son, Akatsuki.
